“Interim” WBC light middleweight champion, Ukrainian Sergey Bogachuk (24-1, 23 KOs) and the WBO International welterweight title holder Virgil Ortiz (21-0, 21 KO) held the weigh-in ceremony.
Both boxers made the limit with the same weight of 69.76 kg (153.8 lbs). The traditional battle of eyes was also held.
The fight between Bogachuk and Ortiz will take place on August 10. The event will take place in Las Vegas at the Michelob Ultra arena in the famous Mandalay Bay casino.
At stake in the confrontation will be the interim WBC title, which is held by Bogachuk. The fight between Sergey and Virgil will take place under the auspices of the Riyadh Season.
Let us recall that the Ukrainian confidently defeated the American Brian Mendoza in a fight that took place in late March in Las Vegas. Following 12 rounds, all judges gave the victory to Bogachuk – 118-110, 117-111 and 117-111.
Vergil Ortiz defeated Tomas Dulorme from Puerto Rico in his last fight. The American has won all his fights ahead of schedule.
