Krasyuk: Why not have a rematch with Dubois for the title of absolute champion?

Alexander Krasyukpromoter of the WBC, IBO, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion Alexandra Usikasaid that the Ukrainian may have a rematch with the IBF champion in the future Daniel Dubois.

“A rematch with Dubois for the title of absolute champion? Why not? After the first fight, certain questions remained,” Krasyuk said.

Usyk defeated Dubois by knockout in August 2023. After the fight, the Briton said that he deserved the victory, having sent Alexander to the platform earlier, but the referee recorded a blow below the belt in that episode.

Dubois defeated former world champion Anthony Joshua in his last fight. Daniel knocked AJ down three times and knocked out his opponent in the fifth round. Dubois defended the IBF title, which he received after Usyk relinquished it.

Alexander was among the guests of honor at the Dubois vs. Joshua fight. Also near the ring was his future opponent, former WBC world champion Tyson Fury.

Oleksandr Usyk left Ukraine this week and will set up his training camp in Valencia to prepare for his rematch with Tyson Fury.

Let us recall that on the night of May 19, Usyk inflicted the first defeat of his professional career on Tyson Fury in a fight that took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The victory was awarded to the Ukrainian by a split decision of the judges: 115-112, 113-114 and 114-113.

Usyk and Fury have reached an agreement for a rematch. The “Gypsy King” has officially activated the rematch option. The second fight between Alexander and Tyson will take place on December 21, 2024, in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said he would seek the introduction of video replays in this fight.
