Internacional refused to sign ex-Shakhtar striker Luis Adriano

Colorados are looking for a player younger or with less financial demands

Brazilian international refused to sign the former Shakhtar striker Luis Adriano.

The Colorados were considering the 35-year-old forward, who previously played for them before moving to Ukraine. However, the club decided to find a younger player. The transfer could have taken place if Luiz Adriano had significantly reduced the financial requirements.

As part of Internacional, the striker won the Club World Cup in 2006. Later, he moved to Shakhtar, for which he played from 2007 to 2015, became the winner of the UEFA Cup and a six-time champion of Ukraine.

Luis Adriano moved to Turkey’s Antalyaspor last year. The striker’s current contract runs until the summer of 2023.

Recall that another player from Shakhtar, Vitao, plays for Internacional. The miners offered the Brazilian club to buy the defender for 10 million euros.

This season, Internacional finished second in the Brazilian championship. The new season in the Brazilian Serie A starts on April 16.
