Former president of the International Ice Hockey Federation Fasel received Russian citizenship

The functionary also became the main owner of the Russian apple producer

Ex-president International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) René Fasel received citizenship of the Russian Federation.

Also, 73-year-old Fazel became the main owner of Alma Holding LLC. According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, last week the former head of the IIHF received a 54% stake in a Russian company that grows apples in the Krasnodar Territory. The remaining 46% of the shares are owned by Volga Group Agro.

Fasel led the IIHF from 1994 to 2021. In January 2022, he was entered into the USRIP as an individual entrepreneur.

In March 2022, Fasel opposed the IIHF’s decision to suspend the activities of the Russian and Belarusian ice hockey federations due to the invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine.

Early on the morning of February 24, 2022, Russia launched rocket and air strikes on most Ukrainian cities and then launched a full-scale military invasion. The war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine has been going on for the 356th day.
