The Ukrainian missed the first pre-season sparring of the Gunners
Arsenal defender Alexander Zinchenko still reeling from the injury that plagued him last season.
“I was told that he could take part in the pre-season when Arsenal get him back in shape. There were pictures of him training, but I don’t know how intense the training was. The first signs suggest that he has not yet overcome his calf injury,” said journalist Kaya Kaynak.
The Ukrainian missed the end of last season due to calf problems. Earlier it was reported that Zinchenko began working in the main group of the Gunners. At the same time, Alexander did not take part in the first Arsenal sparring in the offseason with Watford (1:1) and Nuremberg (1:1).
The injury of the Ukrainian did not allow Alexander to take part in the matches of the national team in qualifying for Euro 2024 with North Macedonia and Malta.
Arsenal were crowned vice champions of England at the end of the 2022/23 season. On August 12, Mikel Arteta’s team will start the new season in the Premier League with a home game against Nottingham Forest.
