The head coach “Tottenham » Ange Postecoglou agreed with Inter Miami striker Lionel Messi who called the Spurs player Christiana Romero the best defender in the world.
Messi congratulated Romero after the World Cup qualifying match in which the Argentines beat Ecuador (1:0), the striker said that Romero is currently the best defender in world football.
“I wouldn’t argue with Messi. I’ll tell you: I wouldn’t want to play against him. [Ромеро]. Most guys don’t like to face him in training. He’s a serious opponent, and I like that about him,” Postecoglou said, as quoted by Talksport.
Messi and Romero became world champions in 2022 as part of the Argentina national team. The defender has scored two goals in four appearances for Tottenham this season.
