Yastremskaya lost at the same stage
Ukrainian tennis players Lyudmila Kicheknok And Dayana Yastremskaya started in the main draw of the tournament WTA 1000 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
We started differently. Lyudmila, paired with Arancha Rus (Netherlands), managed to defeat the duet Veronica Miroshnichenko (-) / Renata Sarazua (Mexico). But Dayana, together with her Polish partner Magdalena French, lost to the American tandem Caroline Dolehide / Eisha Muhammad.
Kichenok and Rus lost the first set to their rivals – 3:6 (the losing serve in the 8th game was decisive), but in the second they took convincing revenge – 6:1. The decisive game brought clear success to the Ukrainian-Dutch pair – 10:4.
The super-dramatic match, in which Yastremskaya participated, took two sets, but lasted 43 minutes longer than the match between Kichenok and Rus – almost two hours. The fate of both sets was decided in a tiebreaker, and both times were not in favor of Dayana and her partner – 4:7 and 7:9.
Kichenok and Rus will compete for the right to reach the quarter finals with the tandem of Gabriela Dabrowski / Erin Routliffe (Canada / New Zealand), seeded 3rd at the tournament.
