After a few months of expectation, Santos signed a contract with WTorre for the renovation of Vila Belmiro; see what’s left to start the works
After much internal expectation and from its fans, the Santos signed this Wednesday, 27th, the contract with WTorre for the construction of the new Vila Belmiro. The document is like a “MoU” (memorandum of understanding) that will serve to formalize that there is an agreement to carry out the construction.
Despite this, renovations began only after the sale of some chairs, which will begin to be sold soon. This will serve as funding for the start of works through the construction company that will be responsible. The idea was for this to happen in April, on the club’s anniversary, which was not possible.
The new Vila Belmiro will have capacity for just over 30 thousand fans and will be divided into four sectors: Grandstand, Premium, Box and Superior Grandstand. It will be built in an area of 71,690 m², with 27 internal and 36 external stores, in addition to parking for 576 vehicles.
The renovation has no deadline to actually start, and in the meantime the team will continue using the stadium for its home games, which will be important in this season. In a bad phase, Santos remains within the relegation zone and is looking for a reaction to avoid what would be the first fall in its history.
