The president Turkish Football Federation Mehmet Buyukeksi announced that matches of the national championship will resume on December 19. Competitions in all leagues were suspended after referee Khalil Mehler was brutally attacked.
Let us remind you that on Monday, December 11, after the Turkish Super League match between Ankaragucu and Rizespor (1:1), the president of the home team, Faruk Koci, ran onto the lawn and hit Mehler. Later, they tried to finish off the lying judge with their feet.
The Disciplinary Committee will decide on sanctions against Ankaragucu, the club president and all those responsible on December 14.
After 15 rounds played, Fenerbahçe is in the lead in the Turkish Super League, ahead of Galatasaray in additional indicators. Ankaragucu is in 11th place in the standings.
