Former Spartak and Russian national team footballer Andrei Tikhonov believes that the Real Sociedad midfielder Arsene Zakharian must adapt to new requirements and devote more effort to training.
Zakharyan joined Real Sociedad in the summer transfer window from Dynamo. The 20-year-old Russian has delivered one assist in 17 matches in all tournaments.
“He was a leader and didn’t strain himself too much at Dynamo, because I saw how he played. Yes, excellent data, a gifted person, I heard a lot about how Zakharyan behaved outside the football field.
It is very difficult to immediately adapt to a professional mindset, to the intensity of training, to observe everything that should be.
— Do you mean that someone is violating our regime?
– They rape. Karpin said: try to lose two matches there (in Spain), you can’t go out on the street, because the whole city knows you. Respect for everything that should be, plus the intensity of work… This is where Zakharyan was hurt. He had practically no injuries at Dynamo. And here muscle injuries are a change in training intensity and volume.
He is talented, we don’t have many players like him, but we have to work three times as hard,” Tikhonov said on the FIRST MATCH show “Central Circle”.
