The first day of the trial of Daniel Alves, accused of sexual violence, concluded this Monday; read the quotes from the complainant’s relative
This Monday, the 5th, the first day of the trial of Daniel Alves, accused of sexual assault, in Spain. In addition to the complainant’s testimony, witnesses gave their versions of the case, including waiters from the nightclub, a friend and a cousin of the alleged victim.
“They were there (in the bathroom) for a long time, I don’t know how long. When she came out, she looked ugly… So I asked if she was okay. She just said “let’s go!” We left. She said that he (Daniel Alves) did her a lot of harm, that he had ejaculated inside her… My cousin doesn’t sleep, she takes medicine, it wasn’t like that before. She has been taking antidepressants, she doesn’t work, she just leaves the house when we want and we insist a lot. We cry every other day”reported the young woman’s cousin.
Ana Matallana, a friend of the complainant, also explained the trauma she experienced: “I see him approach her with the same clingy attitude with which he approached me. I see her tense… They go to a door and I lose sight of her”. Matallana also shared that the alleged victim did not want to report Alves for fear of being discredited, but that she was encouraged by her friend to do so.
