The 18-year-old midfielder signed a new contract with the Miners
Midfielder Shakhtar Viktor Tsukanov spoke about the new contract and acclimatization in the adult team.
“This is very pleasant and unexpected, considering that I signed a contract in the summer and have already received an offer of a new contract.”
“I think I have already adapted to the team. My partners treat me very well, and I communicate with all of them without problems. They constantly come up to me after or between training sessions to give advice and point out mistakes that need to be corrected.”

“In the test matches there were no football luck, I was lucky in some goals. However, I believe that if I had not put in enough effort in certain episodes, I would not have scored, so this is also my merit.”
Earlier, Shakhtar announced the extension of the contract with Tsukanov. The 18-line midfielder’s new contract runs until 2028.
Tsukanov has been in Shakhtar’s system since 2019. This season he has played 19 matches and scored seven goals for Shakhtar U-19 in all competitions. The midfielder is also a player in the Ukrainian youth team.
Now Tsukanov is at the training camp of Shakhtar’s first team in Turkey. In four control games, the midfielder scored three goals.
Marino Pusic’s team will play in the 1/16 of the Europa League, where its opponent will be Marseille. In the Ukrainian Championship, the Miners are in fourth place, three points behind the leaders, but with two matches in hand.
