Mudryk’s mentor may change in the summer
Head coach Feyenoord Arne Slot is one of the replacement options Mauricio Pochettino V Chelsea. It is possible that the Dutchman will lead the Blues next season, Spanish media report.
Under the Argentine, Chelsea performs brightly, but is unstable – only 36 points and 11th place after 26 rounds. At the same time, Pochettino’s team missed the chance to secure access to European competition, losing to Liverpool in overtime of the League Cup final (0:1).
Like the rest of the team, Blues winger Mikhail Mudryk is having an unstable season. The Ukrainian scored five goals and provided three assists in 28 matches of the season, but in eight consecutive rounds of the Premier League he did not make it into the starting lineup.
The chair under 52-year-old Pochettino is unstable. Previously, Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi, who previously coached Shakhtar, was named as a potential replacement for the Argentinean.
In turn, back in May last year, rumors linked Sloth with Tottenham. Shakhtar was even reported to be interested, but by that time Arne had already extended his contract with the Rotterdam club.
Slot, 45, has been in charge of Feyenoord since 2021. In 2022, the mentor led the club to the final of the first edition of the Conference League, and last summer he led Fehie to the 16th league title in history (and only the second in the new century).
Feyenoord is second in the Eredivisie this season, 10 points behind PSV. Slot’s side finished third in the Champions League group (behind Atlético Madrid and Lazio) before losing to Roma on penalties in the Europa League play-offs.
