Athletistic/Football. The Moscow derby promised an uncompromising fight. Dynamo were burned by Rostov in the last round (1:4) and simply need to restore their championship ambitions. “Spartak” did not score at all in the RPL this spring, and in the middle of the week they lost to “Zenith”, almost the entire base is involved.

Dynamo won their Russian Cup match and also kept fresher by using their reserves against SKA-Khabarovsk. But all the rested leaders have already left for Spartak: Tyukavin, Ngamalyo, Carrascal, Chavez, Bitello. Ougalde, Sobolev, Medina and Zinkovsky were responsible for the “red-white” attacks.

The home team scored first. Luis Chavez scored from the penalty spot. Dynamo was closer to the second goal than Spartak to the first, but 20 minutes before the end, Leshchuk let the team down. He parried Ignatov’s not-so-difficult shot from outside the penalty area in front of him, and Sobolev proved that it was not for nothing that Abaskal left him on the field. Sensing possible prey, the center forward went all the way and won his trophy, the fourth goal of the RPL season. Interrupted the team’s dry streak.

After equalizing the score, “Spartak” also ran to finish off “Dynamo”! The end was the most interesting part of the match after the break. The red and white had more positive emotions, but Lichka seemed to drag his feet with the substitutions. And in the 87th minute, something amazing happened: Leshchuk’s nightmare was repeated exactly. Zinkovsky saved the difficult ball on the left, made a pass in the penalty area to Ignatov, he had a bad shot, however, the blue and white goalkeeper dropped the ball – and Sobolev scored a double in the end . The obvious is the incredible… Dynamo suffered an undeserved defeat in the derby because of the goalkeeper.

After 22 matches of the Russian championship, Dynamo has scored 38 points and is in third place. In turn, after a similar number of RPL matches, Spartak scored 35 points and is in sixth place.

What will happen to Guillermo Abascal now? On April 7, information appeared that Spartak decided to fire the head coach, regardless of the result of the match with Dynamo.

The Spaniard is expected to part ways next week.

After the final whistle, Dynamo coach Marcel Licka noted that the team had allowed two goals to Spartak.

“I’m happy with the match, not just the victory. The team played a great match, everything went well defensively. We gave Spartak two goals.

We had a lot of chances in the second half, we should have scored. We had to carry out our counter-attacks, the last shot missed,” Licka said.

Spartak head coach Abaskal noted at a press conference that the team won a well-deserved victory.

“A well-deserved victory. Difficult times create strong people. After the penalty, it was difficult to win back. Today we achieved a long-awaited victory, as one family. We fought back and won. This is a testament to of the team’s resilience,” noted Abascal.

The specialist stressed that he was not afraid to talk about his possible dismissal.

“Resignation? Don’t worry. I’ll go home now, eat sushi and go to bed,” said the Spanish mentor.
