Sport Arena, together with the PFL, is naming the hero of the next round in the Second League. In the 26th round this is Rukha-2 forward Denis Teslyuk
Rukh-2 at the very end of the match against Real Pharma scored the only goal of the game, winning the long-awaited victory. It’s fair that the author of the goal was one of the most active ones – Teslyuk took strike positions several times, tried and waited for his chance. For the jury of Sport Arena and the PFL of Ukraine, this was the biggest impression on the tour – the winning goal in the 90+2 minute.
– How unexpected and pleasant is it for you to be recognized as the best player of the tour?
– Of course, I am very pleased, but I could not achieve this recognition without my teammates. Happy that I helped the team score three important points.
– Rukh-2 had not won in 2024 until the last round. Did this put psychological pressure on the team?
“We really wanted to finally win so that we could feel more confident in our own abilities.” We created enough chances, but there were significant problems with execution. We still have a lot of work to do on our composure in the final third of the field.
– This season you played 698 minutes in the UPL. Does your experience in the elite division help you realize your potential in the Second League?
– This is a very good and important experience for me. Performances in the UPL give me confidence in my own abilities. I do everything to improve from match to match.
– In the match against Real Pharma, your team created a number of chances, but there were significant problems with execution. Did you lack experience or did your great desire also have a negative impact?
– Indeed, excessive desire in many game episodes hinders the players of our team. However, we never give up and continue to play our football. We work on implementation at every training session, but in the game everything doesn’t always work out.
– What adjustments did the coaching staff make during the break? It seemed that in the second half your team played more actively.
– It was important for us to play more aggressively, to press the opponent to their goal. They did not allow Odessa residents to calmly leave the defense. The coach said that we should win, and we still achieved this result.
– It turns out that you were able to snatch victory primarily due to faith in your own strength?
– We had nothing to lose, so every minute we tried to play even more actively and aggressively. We were completely superior to our opponents and still wanted to snatch this long-awaited victory. Rukh-2 always plays from the first to the last minute.
– In stoppage time, you scored after Mikhalchuk’s pass. Remember this episode?
– He ended up where a striker should be. He played ahead and sent the ball into the net. I would like to note a very high-quality transfer of Milan. We were filled with positive emotions after the goal, because we achieved the desired result. We breathed a sigh of relief, but there is still a lot of work to be done.
– In your opinion, should Rukh-2 potentially be in the top 6 or is the current ninth place logical?
– I think that our team should be in the top 6 in terms of performance, because we dominate in many matches. Unfortunately, the implementation fails…
– Remember your performances for the youth teams of Volyn. What do you remember most about that period in your career? Have you met Vitaly Kvartsyan?
– My football journey began in Volyn. Passed all age categories in the club. Happy that I could play for the main team of Volyn. Most of all I remember my debut for the Lutsk club. Thanks to Vasily Sachko, who believed in me and gave me the opportunity to prove myself. We know Kvartsyan, but he didn’t train me. Vitaly Vladimirovich often came to DUFLU matches and could point out my mistakes.
– We scored our first goal in professional football on June 11, 2021 against Uzhgorod. How memorable is this goal for you?
– Our team played quite well back then, superior to the opponent. I was sure that I could take the penalty kick. Thanks to my teammates who trusted me to take the penalty and score my debut goal. These emotions remain for life.
– Who invited you to Rukh?
– After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Volyn ceased to exist, so the agent offered to sign a contract with Rukh. I didn’t think about this proposal for a long time.
– A year ago you made your debut for Rukh in the UPL against Dnepr-1. What emotions did you experience?
– It was unexpected for me. I came out at the end of the fight and immediately felt that this was a completely different level. The speeds on the field were significantly different from youth football. Of course, I was happy that I was able to make my debut in the UPL, because I had long dreamed of this.
– Share your impressions of your debut for the Ukrainian youth team in a match against your peers from Germany? Are you satisfied with your game?
“At that time I was overwhelmed with emotions and felt happy. We played in Germany, but there were many Ukrainians in the stands. Everyone supported us and drove us forward. I was a little nervous during the match, so I wasn’t entirely happy with myself. It was an honor for me to represent Ukraine in such a fight.
– What do you remember most from training in the youth team under the leadership of Melgosa?
– It was a very interesting and important experience for me. Enjoyed the opportunity to work with such a coach. The most memorable moment was the game itself against Germany.
