The only goal was scored by Sudakov from the penalty spot
Super match of the 28th round Ukrainian Premier League Shakhtar — Dynamo ended with a minimal victory for the nominal hosts – 1:0.
The only goal came in the first half. The ball, after being hit by Daniil Sikan, hit the hand of Konstantin Vivcharenko. Alexey Derevinsky did not react to the episode at first, but after consulting VAR, he watched the replay and awarded a penalty. Georgy Sudakov confidently dealt with his namesake Buschan.
The remaining time passed in a nervous and equal struggle. The Kievans were close to winning back several times. Denis Popov shot dangerously after corners twice (in one case, Dmitry Riznyk came to the rescue), Vladimir Brazhko’s long-range shot lacked a little accuracy.
The miners caught their chances in counterattacks, but also did not take advantage of them (for example, Lassina Traore missed the top corner in stoppage time).
For the second time this season, Shakhtar beat a key rival with a minimal score. This success allowed Marino Pusic’s team to break away from their pursuer by 7 points and win another championship title ahead of schedule, two rounds before the end.
The match, as expected, ended in a big brawl. Eguinaldo received a straight red card for unsportsmanlike conduct.
