Fury: I live in Usik’s head

A new portion of “mind games” from the “Gypsy King”

WBC heavyweight belt holder Tyson Fury noted another statement addressed to his future opponent, the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO world heavyweight champion Alexandra Usik.

“I live in his mind, for free, of course. People say, “You can’t get into his mind.” I’m already in his thoughts. He thinks about me every time he gets up in the morning. Every time he closes his eyes, his heart jumps out of his body, thinking about the Gypsy King. Every time he brushes his teeth or pees, he thinks about me and my fat body and knows that I will come for him. I settled in his head for free, I live in his head,” said the Briton.

The unification fight between Usik and Fury will take place on May 18. The list of other fights that will take place as part of the boxing evening in Saudi Arabia is also known. Among them is the fight between Ukrainian Daniel Lapin and Portuguese Octavio Pudivitra for the WBA Continental light heavyweight title.

The event will be hosted by Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Penalties for boxers who refuse to fight are $10 million. The referee in the ring will be Mark Nelson, and the boxers’ actions in rounds will be counted by Manuel Oliver Palermo from Spain, Craig Metcalf from Canada and Mike Fitzgerald from Jacksonville, USA.

WBC President Mauricio Suleiman announced that an agreement had been concluded between the boxers for a re-fight. The WBO is also ready to sanction the second fight. Fury previously stated that there was a mandatory rematch clause in the contract. Subsequently, it became known that the second meeting in the ring between the Ukrainian and the British was scheduled for October 12-13.

Suleiman also presented a special WBC belt for which Usik and Fury will fight. Its design uses the colors of the Ukrainian and British flags. Pope Francis has already blessed the World Boxing Council belt that will be on the line in the title fight.
