WBO lightweight title holder Denis Berinchik (19-0, 9 KOs) and his team visited the mayor of Kyiv, former WBC and WBO world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko.
“Meeting of champions” – this is how the event was succinctly commented on the official page of K2 Promotions (the boxing promotion company of the Klitschko brothers) on social networks.
Let us remind you that in May Berinchyk defeated Mexican Emmanuel Navarrete by split decision and won the long-awaited WBO world lightweight title.
In April, K2 Promotions CEO Alexander Krasyuk said that the contract stipulated a rematch between the Ukrainian and the Mexican. Another option of the contract is fights with champions of other associations, including a show with WBC champion Shakur Stevenson. According to the same Krasyuk, a unification fight against Stevenson is more realistic for Denis than a confrontation with Vasily Lomachenko.
