Andrey is grateful to Moldova for its hospitality and kindness
Goalkeeper Ukrainian national team Andrey Lunin commented on yesterday’s sparring with the national team Moldovain which the blue-yellows achieved a confident victory with a score of 4:0.
“Physically I feel good, I only missed two days. We were preparing for the first match at the Euro with Romania, trying to follow the coach’s tactical instructions both in defense and attack, and choosing the right positions.”
“It’s good that I had a little work, because it keeps me on my toes and adds confidence. We are approaching the Euro, we have a few days left to prepare.”
“The stadium in Moldova is cool, compact, I like that the stands are next to the field. Very atmospheric, full stadium. It’s a good field and it’s a pleasure to play. Moldova received us very hospitably, it’s very nice, they wished us success at the Euro. Thank you very much for this.”
Let us remind you that Sergei Rebrov’s team won a landslide victory in Chisinau – four unanswered goals were scored by Roman Yaremchuk, Viktor Tsygankov, Artem Dovbik and Georgiy Sudakov. Already with the score 4:0, the blue-yellows allowed the opponent to carry out several sharp attacks, and Lunin had the opportunity to enter the game a couple of times.
The sparring with Moldova was the third and last for the Ukrainian team in preparation for Euro 2024. Earlier in Nuremberg, the blue-yellows tied with Germany (0:0), and in Warsaw they lost to Poland (1:3).
Today, June 12, the Ukrainian team arrived in Wiesbaden, its base city during the continental championship. Tomorrow, June 13, Rebrov’s team will hold an open training session at the BRITA-Arena stadium.
At the group stage of the 2024 European Championship, the blue-yellows will play against the national teams of Romania (June 17), Slovakia (June 21) and Belgium (June 26). The matches will take place in Munich, Dusseldorf and Stuttgart, respectively.
