The Football Association of England has advertised for a new coach for the national team.

Deadline for receiving resumes – August 2

Football Association of England posted a wanted ad new head coach for the England men’s team. The deadline for applications is 2 August 2024.

It is noted that the FA has already identified a number of candidates for the vacant position, however the association is committed to an open recruitment process and is interested in receiving responses from individuals who meet a number of criteria.

For example, a potential candidate “must have a UEFA Pro Licence; significant experience in English football with successful results in the Premier League and/or leading international competitions; a track record of successfully scouting, managing and developing English players; and a track record of creating a high-performing, positive team culture and environment.”

Gareth Southgate left the England team after Euro 2024. He had been in charge of the national team since 2016. However, his team lost to Belgium in the third-place match at the 2018 World Cup and were eliminated in the quarter-finals at the 2020 World Cup.

Under Southgate, the English national team reached the finals of the European Championship in 2021 and 2024, but suffered fiascos in both tournaments. At Euro 2024, England lost to Spain with a score of 1:2.
