The club sent a letter stating that it will withdraw from the Ukrainian championship
President Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) Yevhen Dykyi confirmed that the new stadium Ingulets is not allowed to compete in the UPL this season. Dikiy confirmed that the club sent a letter about a possible withdrawal from the tournament.
“Yes, on Friday we received an official letter from FC Ingulets [по поводу снятия с турнира]. No, the new Ingulets stadium is not included in the list of arenas approved for competitions.”
“If the club is withdrawn, no adjustments will be made to the calendar itself, but one team that is supposed to play with Ingulets will have a day off in each round. In the event of withdrawal, all results of matches involving Ingulets will be cancelled. The team that takes 15th place in the final table will directly leave the UPL, and two more teams (13th-14th places) will play playoff matches.”
Earlier, Ingulets President Oleksandr Povoroznyuk said that the club had received an official notification from the UAF banning performances at its home stadium. In his opinion, this is a direct path to the club being removed from the Premier League competitions.
In each of the five opening matches of the 2024/25 UPL (as well as in the Ukrainian Cup), the team from Petrovo played away. The debut at home was supposed to take place on September 14 in the match of the 6th round against Chornomorets.
It is reported that construction work has already been completed at the stadium. However, according to available information, Ingulets is still not given permission to hold matches in Petrovo due to the lack of documents on the commissioning of the arena.
Let us recall that the First League recently lost one of its participants – Khust officially announced its withdrawal from the competition.
Ingulets is one of three teams that have not yet won in the UPL. Vasyl Kobin’s team has earned three points in five rounds and is in 14th place. In the last round, Ingulets was routed by Rukh with a score of 0:5.
