The townspeople will send the player on loan to one of the clubs of their structure
Manchester city agreed on the transfer of left-back Anderlecht Sergio Gomez. The townspeople will pay the Belgian club 13 million euros (11 million pounds).
The defender should arrive in Manchester within one to two days. Gomez has to undergo a medical at the new club.
City are reportedly not planning on using the player right away. The townspeople see the 21-year-old Spaniard as a development prospect, and will loan him to one of the clubs of their City Football Group structure. At the same time, Sergio will have the opportunity to join Guardiola’s team this season.
Gomez made 49 appearances for Anderlecht in all competitions last season. He has seven goals and 15 assists.
In the opening match of the new Premier League season, Guardiola’s side beat West Ham 2-0. Manchester City will take on Bournemouth in the second round of the Premier League on 13 August.
