The Brazilian Football Confederation determined the home and away legs for the 2026 Copa do Brasil semi-finals following a draw at its headquarters in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday.
The semi-final ties are scheduled to take place on 1 November and 8 November, with the governing body set to announce kickoff times at a later date.
In the first bracket, Gremio will host Atletico Mineiro at the Arena do Gremio in Porto Alegre for the opening match. Atletico Mineiro will then play host in the return fixture at the Arena MRV in Belo Horizonte.
The other side of the draw pits Palmeiras against Vasco da Gama. Palmeiras will host the first leg at Nubank Parque in Sao Paulo, before Vasco da Gama stage the second leg at Sao Januario in Rio de Janeiro.
The Copa do Brasil is the premier knockout tournament in Brazilian football, bringing together top-flight clubs from across the South American nation to compete for national honors and silverware.
Historic format change for the final match
The 2026 tournament introduces a major structural change to the decider. For the first time in the history of the competition, the Copa do Brasil final will be played as a single match rather than a traditional two-legged home-and-away series.
The single-leg final will take place on 6 December at the Estadio Mane Garrincha in Brasilia. The venue in the Brazilian capital previously hosted the Supercopa do Brasil in 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2026.
Before reaching the final venue in Brasilia, the four remaining clubs must navigate two intense semi-final fixtures to decide which two teams will contend for the trophy.
Paths of the four semi-finalists
Each of the four semi-finalists earned their place in the final four after overcoming three opponents in earlier rounds of the competition.
Gremio reached the semi-finals after knocking out Confianca, Mirassol, and local rivals Internacional. Atletico Mineiro advanced to the final four by defeating Ceara, Juventude, and state rivals Cruzeiro.
Palmeiras progressed through the knockout stages with victories against Jacuipense, Fortaleza, and Santos. Vasco da Gama secured their semi-final berth by defeating Paysandu, Fluminense, and Vitoria.
Prize money payouts for remaining clubs
Securing a spot in the semi-finals has guaranteed each of the four clubs a prize payout of 9 million reais from the football confederation.
Substantial prize money remains at stake for the finalists. The winner of the 2026 Copa do Brasil will receive 78 million reais, while the runner-up will take home 34 million reais.
