The Kyivans were saved from defeat by Karavaev, who came on as a substitute.
In the central match of the entire second round of the Ukrainian Premier League, Shakhtar missed the victory over Dynamo in Kyiv – 1:1.
The miners had the initiative from the first minutes, creating chances from time to time. The best of them were missed by Alexander Zubkov (twice, in one case the hosts were saved by the crossbar) and Daniil Sikan. Dynamo responded with counterattacks, but it almost never resulted in strikes.
The second half started with a goal. After Georgiy Sudakov’s cross, Eginaldo made a header, Georgiy Buschan parried it either on the line or already behind it, Artem Bondarenko finished off, and after several rebounds the ball finally crossed the cherished line. As a result, the goal was credited to Nikolai Matvienko.
The blue and white got involved, took control of the territory, and began to create chances. Alexander Shovkovsky’s pressure increased repeatedly after the guests were left with ten men – Dmitry Kryskiv received a straight red for a flagrant foul on Christian Bilovar, who replaced the injured Denis Popov during the first half.
