Benfica leads the world market in terms of volume player trading. This is according to the latest analysis from the CIES Football Observatory. The Portuguese club, in particular, leads the ranking both in terms of the number of prepared teams – i.e. brought up in the youth sector for at least three seasons from 15 to 21 years old – players playing in the 49 top divisions of the world, and by the training index – a parameter that takes into account the number of trained players depending on their sporting level. Essentially, from this perspective, all minutes played at a professional level, weighted by the reference championship, count.
