His older brother Emil previously had an offer from the Ukrainian youth team, but chose his historical homeland
Association of Azerbaijan Football Federations (AFFA) intends to naturalize another Ukrainian football player. It’s about Rolan Mustafaevwinger Rukha U-19 And Ukrainian national team U-17.
It is reported that AFFA has already “moved to concrete actions and is conducting relevant negotiations.”
Rolan is the younger brother of 23-year-old Emil Mustafaev, a Polesie midfielder who played for Alexandria until 2023. Mustafayev Sr. has been involved in the youth national team of Azerbaijan since the fall of 2021, and since March 2024 he has been a player in the national team of the Caucasian state (five matches, including against Slovakia in the 2024/25 Nations League).
Roland is 16 years old. Last season he scored 10 goals in 22 matches for Rukh U-16, and this summer he was transferred to the U-19 team of the Lviv club.
In April of this year, the younger Mustafayev, as part of the Ukrainian U-16 national team (born no older than 2008), became the winner of the UEFA Development Tournament, held in Estonia. Roland himself scored a double in the second round, bringing the blue-yellows a victory over Estonia (3:1).
