On Thursday, November 7, Dynamo will have a match against Ferencvaros in the fourth round of the Europa League
Winger Dynamo Andrey Yarmolenko thanked Hamburg for the opportunity to hold nominally “home” European Cup matches in this city, and also expressed hope for the return of international matches to Ukrainian stadiums.
“I’ll be honest: we have no other choice. We cannot play in our country, in our city, with our fans. You all know perfectly well the reason for this: this is a barbaric aggressive war that Russia is waging against Ukraine. In addition, long journeys to our European games are an additional burden. But compared to what our country is going through, these are small things.”
“We are very grateful to Hamburg for its support. I would also like to thank all the German people for supporting our country. We appreciate German hospitality and really hope that international games will return to Ukrainian stadiums as soon as possible. We would really like local fans to join the Ukrainians in Germany and support us at the next home games.”
“We played the first three games against very strong opponents from the Italian and German leagues. Our results are still unsatisfactory, but there are objective reasons for this. We are optimistic and will fight for every point in the upcoming games. “Nothing is lost, we will have a chance to score points and compete for a place in the playoffs.”
Let us remind you that in the three starting rounds of the Europa League, Alexander Shovkovsky’s team invariably lost, and each of the defeats was with a clean sheet (0:3 from Lazio, 0:2 in the game with Hoffenheim and 0:1 against Roma). In the overall standings, the white-blues are in penultimate 35th place, ahead of only Karabakh.
The Dynamo – Ferencvaros match will take place in Hamburg on Thursday, November 7. Start – at 22:00 Kyiv time. The match will be officiated by Swedish referee Mohammed Al-Hakim.
