– Is this your first match with a team with which you have a lot in your football career?
– No, we used to meet in the Second League, when I played for Munkács.
– Probably, your keeper Sergei Chernobay can be singled out in this victory?
– Yes, of course, Sergey helped us a lot in this fight. By and large, in all five matches of this season, he helped us out a lot and helped us. Many thanks for him from the whole team.
– How can you explain the opponent’s goalkeeper’s mistake in the case of your goal?
We are all human and we all make mistakes. The goalkeeper of the Carpathians is no exception, anyone could make a mistake in his place. Therefore, we can say that I was somewhere more fortunate.
– Why did you decide to take the shot right from outside the penalty area – was there space in front of you to get close to the goalkeeper and shoot?
– After he handled the ball, he comfortably fell under the blow in flight. From this he repulsed. After all, there was not so much time for reflection – while I would tame the ball, lower it to the ground, throw it on the move, the defenders and the goalkeeper would get as close as possible to me and prevent me from punching. And so it turned out also a small effect of surprise, that’s all.
– Is it nice to win in the Goal of the Tour nomination from Sportaren?
– Of course. It’s always nice to win in different categories. It gives inspiration and more self-confidence.
– You took the penalty…
– He was absolutely confident in himself and in his own abilities.
– After five matches, you personally have four goals and one assist. Satisfied with this performance?
– Am I satisfied? I would say that it could be better if I used all the moments. However, I thank God that now there are such figures. I will work to constantly improve them, it all depends on me and my partners.
– Are the Karpaty really contenders for victory in their group?
– Undoubtedly, Karpaty is one of the strongest clubs in the First League. They have a lot of well-known names in the past. Therefore, it cannot be said that they are not contenders.
– Sergey Nagornyak managed to breathe life into the team. What coaching traits would you note in him: excellent, tactician, strategist, or did he manage to establish discipline?
– I would say that all together. For every game we change tactics and strategy. He evaluates the opposing team very well and successfully sets tasks for us. Yes, and in terms of discipline, everything is very strict with us, which undoubtedly gives its result. He is very picky about small details. He tries to immediately correct any shortcomings, emphasizes mistakes at each training session. And, in my opinion, football consists of such small things, so it helps a lot to grow as a football player. Here is something else I would like to point out.
– Next, Niva awaits you, which, after an unsuccessful start, began to gain momentum. Is the opponent very dangerous?
– There are no easy or “safe” opponents in the First League. Niva scored four points in the last two rounds, drawing with Polesie, one of the favorites of the League. Therefore, we are waiting for a very difficult game.
