Haas driver Nico Hulkenberg, speaking about expectations related to the Canadian leg of the season, admitted that the Haas team has not yet been able to identify the reasons for the increased degradation of rubber and its unstable operation. According to the German racer, the search for a solution is still ongoing.
Nico Hulkenberg: “The track in Montreal is very different from Barcelona, and the conditions will be different this weekend. On some tracks we had problems because of the unstable behavior of the tires due to their increased wear. In some weekends it was more, in others it was less, and it all depends on the track characteristics, the coverage and the rubber compounds we have.
Of course we are working on it, trying to find a solution to the problem to perform more consistently on different tracks, but all this is still in the works.
In general, I have fond memories of racing in Montreal, this is one of my favorite Grands Prix, I love the track, and this city, and Canadian fans, who are distinguished by a passionate love of motorsport, and we feel it . That’s why I want to get to work as soon as possible, and as for the weather, it’s unpredictable here, so I suggest just waiting for tomorrow.”
