The Haas team could lose millions by the end of the season.

The risk that the Haas F1 team could lose millions at the end of the season is becoming increasingly apparent. The Mexico City Grand Prix was the fourth consecutive stage of the season in which she failed to score any points and as a result dropped to last place in the Constructors’ Championship.

Daniel Ricciardo had a great race at the Rodriguez Brothers Circuit, finishing seventh and earning six points for AphaTauri, allowing it to rise from 10th to 8th in the team standings, while Haas was again unlucky.

If the American team fails to improve its situation in the three remaining stages before the end of the season, it will suffer very significant financial losses, as the difference in prize money between 8th place (for which it can still claim) and the last one is about 15-20 million euros

At the same time, the Mexico City Grand Prix became the 200th Formula 1 race in Nico Hulkenberg’s career, and until the 65th lap he was in 10th position, but he could not hold it and finished only 13th.

“The top ten was so close, but still very far away,” the German racer responded to Sky Deutschland. “I probably realized before anyone else that I wouldn’t be able to earn any points.” I tried to stay in the top ten, but to do that I had to attack aggressively, which wore out the tires.

It’s all a bit frustrating because I had a crazy race, but it wasn’t enough.”

After 19 stages of the season, Hulkenberg still has 9 points, and the last time he earned anything was at the beginning of July in Austria: Nico finished sixth in the sprint at the Red Bull Ring. Kevin Magnussen, his teammate, had only three points to his name, and in Mexico City the Dane retired from the race after suffering a serious accident due to a broken rear suspension of his VF-23 car.
