Colapinto is asking for $20 million

Young drivers often look for an opportunity to pay for their Formula 1 performances with the help of family members and sponsors. But with Franco Colapinto the situation is different.

According to RacingNews365, Red Bull will have to pay Williams $20 million if they want to get Franco Colapinto into the main team or as RB.

There are no vacancies at Williams for next season; Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz will take the wheel in 2025, but they do not intend to simply let Colapinto go. However, South American sponsors are ready to invest in the first Argentine in Formula 1 since 2001, which will help the team that wants to buy him.

Twenty million dollars seems like an extremely large sum for a driver who has made just six starts so far, but money won’t be an obstacle if Red Bull wants to sign Colapinto. Young and promising athletes are expensive.
