Sebastian Vettel took part in a press conference dedicated to the German environmental initiative BioBienenApfel in Munich on Wednesday.
The four-time world champion is increasingly involved in conservation organizations and since last year has been an ambassador for the BioBienenApfel project, which aims to increase biodiversity and improve the living conditions of European bees.
In particular, the project participants plan to plant 1 million flowers to make it easier for bees to perform their natural functions, and Vettel has also transferred a large amount into BioBienenApfel’s accounts.
Other famous people also participate in this project, for example tennis player Dominik Thiem, legendary musician Sting and Otmar Karas, First Vice-President of the European Parliament. But everyone can contribute.
“If you want to take responsibility for the future, you don’t have to give up anything in this life, but you can just make environmental care more interesting,” said the Formula 1 driver. “Environmental protection and fun can be beautifully combined. I support the BioBienenApfel project because I want to convey to people that everyone can benefit from their actions.”
