Goalie “Tractor” Nikita Podskrebalin shared her impressions of the victory over “Barys” (2:1) in the match of the pre-season hockey tournament, which takes place in Kazan.
– This is the first time I’ve played at this level against a KHL team. Two seasons ago I already played out of season for Traktor, but against the Russian youth team. The most important thing is that you win, everything goes into the piggy bank. Confidence with victories will grow, everything will get better and better.
– Were you nervous before or during the game?
– At first I was nervous for five minutes, but I think it’s normal training for goalkeepers. Then you step into the game and pick up the pace. The main thing is not to miss these five minutes, otherwise psychology can move a little.
– What did the season and a half you spent at Ugra bring you?
“It’s my best season and a half so far. Very interesting and close-knit team. They do everything for the guys and their growth. Goalkeeping coach Artem Ivanovich Yatskevich has invested a lot in us, thank you very much. Only the sediment stayed because we were knocked out in the first round of playoffs by Goryanka, but the personal experience was very good.
– Are you happy to have been invited again on Traktor?
It’s a new stress. But the more you stress and the more you master it, the more experienced you become.
You can, of course, stay in your comfort zone and play in VHL, but you always want more and achieve something new. When they told me I was going back to Traktor, I assessed everything adequately. I realized that I had to move on and move up in the KHL. I am already 25 years old and if something goes wrong for me, it will be more difficult. The younger generation is growing – there is “Anaheim” and “Carolina”. So now is the time for me.
Do you feel ready for the KHL?
– Difficult question. We need more game practice. Now everyone is stressed, micro moments are more and more fine-tuned, five-pounding, physical training. The regular season is completely different. It takes time to understand whether I am ready or not. If we are talking about personal physical and mental indicators, then I think the time has come. It’s time to enter this league.
– Is there serious competition between the young guardians of the Traktor system?
– Good communication with everyone. Everyone understands that there will be no place assigned to you. You have to prove everything through hard work, and through competition you become stronger. But it’s a good and enjoyable competition. There is no sleaze, intimidation and dissatisfaction.
What are your goals for the season?
There are many ambitions, but the main thing is not to be stifled by them. The main task is to earn as much as possible. When they let me play, I’ll get the most out of myself. And the Cup is something high. It is necessary to achieve this through hard work and consistency, – Podskrebalin is quoted by RB Sport.
