Canadian defender “Tractor” Robert Hamilton expressed his confidence that the people of Chelyabinsk will compete for victory in the Gagarin Cup this season.
The new KHL season begins on September 1.
– This is your first pre-season in the KHL. How was it?
– I heard a lot from other players about the difficulty of summer training in Russia. And it turned out to be true. It’s serious work that will allow us to prepare well for the season and to compete in the championship.
– During the offseason, new players appeared in the Traktor list. How do you assess the changes?
— Semyon Der-Arguchintsev and Vitaly Kravtsov are great guys and great players. They have played in Canada and speak good English, so we keep in touch. All the other guys are also friendly, they immediately joined the team.
– Did Traktor get stronger during the off-season?
– Certainly. You can see how everyone works and how they prepare for the season.
Are you disappointed after last season?
— Yes, in the end we managed to win several matches and close the gap on points, but Neftekhimik qualified for the playoffs based on additional indicators. Everyone on the team was disappointed. This year, I’m sure Traktor will reach the playoffs and can compete for the Gagarin Cup. After all, the playoffs are exactly what we play for,” RB Sport quoted Hamilton as saying.
