Washington captain Alexander Ovechkin had one assist to reach 1,500 NHL points. The Russian became the fifth hockey player in NHL history to play his entire career for one team and achieve this feat.
The other four players with a similar achievement are Steve Yzerman (Detroit), Mario Lemieux (Pittsburgh), Joe Sakic (Quebec https://www.sport.ru/Colorado) and Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh).
To reach the 1,500-point mark, the Russian hockey player needed 1,370 matches in which he scored 827 goals and made 673 assists.
