Ovechkin scored an assist in the home match against the Dallas Stars (4:5 B).

He helped Dylan Strome score, who eventually scored twice. One of Washington’s goals was scored by Russian Evgeny Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov.

Earlier, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby reached the 1,500-point mark. He scored 1,529 points in 1,215 career games. The Canadian scored 565 goals and made 964 assists. Ovechkin has 837 goals and 673 assists in 1,370 games.
