Russian goalkeeper “Tampa Bay Lightning » Andrei Vasilyevsky set a record for National Hockey League (NHL) playoff wins among European goalies.
On Saturday, Tampa beat Florida in the fourth game of the first round of the Stanley Cup with a score of 6-3. The playoff victory was Vasilevsky’s 66th career victory in 114 games. The Russian beat the Czech Dominique Hasek (65 victories in 119 matches) and took 12th place in this indicator among all NHL goaltenders – only North Americans are higher in the list.
In first place in terms of the number of matches won is Patrick Roy (151 victories in 247 matches).
Vasilevskiy has defended the colors of Tampa since 2014; in 2019, the goalie won the Vezina Trophy.
Tampa trails Florida in the best-of-seven series, 1-3. The fifth game will take place on April 28 at the Panthers site.
