Athletistic / Hockey. The Detroit Red Wings congratulated Pavel Datsyuk on winning the Hockey Hall of Fame ballot in Toronto. In 2024, the 45-year-old Russian will be inducted into the ranks of the greats.

“We congratulate Pavel Datsyuk on this extremely well-deserved honor! His skills made him one of the greatest hockey players of all time. His work ethic and competitiveness set Datsyuk apart from all other players. Pavel was an exceptional hockey player and he will rightfully take his place among the greats of the game,” said Steve Yzerman, Detroit’s executive vice president and general manager.

Pavel Datsyuk won the Stanley Cup twice with Detroit. The Russian is a member of the “Triple Gold Club”, which includes players who have become Stanley Cup winners, Olympic champions and world champions. Datsyuk played in the NHL All-Star Game four times and was awarded the Frank J. Selkie Trophy three times. This award is given to the best defensive striker.

The official induction ceremony for hockey players into the Hall of Fame will take place in Toronto in November 2024.
