Russian high jumper, world indoor champion Danil Lyssenko became the winner of the traditional “battle of the sexes” – a tournament in which men and women compete.
The competitions took place on Sunday in Moscow on the basis of the sports complex “Salyut Heraklion” for the sixth time. Traditionally, the result of athletes of different sexes is compared by points that correspond to a certain height.
Lyssenko took the height of 2.38 meters, updating the best result of the season in the world (2.32 m), which belonged to him. Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Maria Lasitskene failed to gain a height of 1.97 meters in three attempts. Even earlier, the fight was finished by 2019 World Cup silver medalist Ilya Ivanyuk.
In the team ranking, which takes into account the points of the three best athletes, the men also won thanks to the results of Lyssenko.
