The young rider finished second at the FIA karting European Championship

Ukrainian kart driver Alexander Bondarev finished in second position in the first leg of the FIA karting European Championship. These are the most important competitions of the karting season, which started in Valencia last weekend.

The first stage was held on the Kartodromo Internacional Lucas Guerrero track. In the OK Junior category, where Alexander competes, 83 of the best kart drivers in the world took part. The Ukrainian did not have the fastest car among all the participants, but thanks to the choice of the right tactics, experience and the absence of errors in piloting, he managed to achieve a high result.

On Friday, Alexander had a good qualification: the second position in his group, and the sixth – in the general. Bondarev stayed in the top all weekend: after a run in the hits, he took the fourth position in the overall ranking.

Super Hit Bondarev started second, took the lead from the third round, but eventually finished second. Alexander spent the final no less confidently. I started third, and already on the first lap I came out on top. It was possible to keep the leading position until the sixth lap, but nevertheless the Ukrainian came second to the finish line, having won the first podium at the European Championship.

The FIA karting European Championship has three more rounds to go.
