Belarusian swimmer Shimanovich on the best result in the Czech Republic: “I am satisfied with the fight on contact”

Swimming world record holder, leader of the Belarusian swimming team Ilya Shimanovitch told that he was happy with the level of competition at the Russian Championship in Kazan, as there was not enough contact wrestling in preparation.

Shimanovich won the final of the Russian Championships in the 100m breaststroke with a score of 58.75. The best of the Russians was Kirill Prigoda – 58.98. Šimanović is the world leader in the 50m and 100m breaststroke.

– The preparation was aimed at July. It was pure improvisation, there were problems in December after Kazan, my health deteriorated, it took me a long time to recover. The results were unexpected, there was more head work. I was expecting to swim 59.5, when I saw 58 at the championship I thought – well…

Now in Kazan, first of all, I am content with contact wrestling, which is very lacking, no one bothers you there. Here, on the sides, you see someone, somewhere you tense up, emotionally it is more difficult, but it is very necessary. Without sparring and rivals, it’s very difficult, it’s not enough.

— We miss Anton Chupkov. Are you bored?

– I miss you, but we saw each other recently (laughs).

– What are you sailing in the near future?

– The Belarusian Cup, the Russian Cup, we are waiting for more information about the departures, – Shimanovich told .

The Russian Championship in Kazan will end on April 21. Watch the live broadcast of the departures on the channels of the match outfit, as well as on the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
