European short course swimming champion Arina Surkova said that she did not expect such a quick result from herself at a distance of 50m butterfly in the final of the Russian championship.
Surkova updated her own Russian record, which she set the day before (25.59). The competitions took place on Wednesday in Kazan. Surkova became first with a score of 25.30 seconds. Second place was taken by Anita Grishchenko (26.01), third place was taken by Daria Klepikova (26.08).
“I didn’t even expect such a fast result. I thought it would be worse than yesterday, or the same. As a result, it turned out very fast.
— Peak form at what start should be? Are you preparing for July now?
“Now I still don’t know. The unloading was a bit incomprehensible to me. It’s even hard to say with certainty. From now on, the objective remains to swim quickly the 100 m butterfly and the 50 m freestyle. I can’t set myself any goals yet, I’m going to improve, I hope everything will be fine. The form is always unpredictable, the start of the championship was blurry, it started “blurry” from the fourth day, Surkova told .
The Russian Championship in Kazan will end on April 21. Watch the live broadcast of the departures on the channels of the match outfit, as well as on the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
