Skier Veronica Stepanova showed the injuries she suffered after a fall during a 15 km time trial at the Russian Championships in Malinovka.
Stepanova fell on roller skis and finished 27th, 4 minutes 29 seconds behind the winner. Alina Pekletsova, 17, won the freestyle race.
— If you’re afraid of scars, don’t start skiing. “Scars adorn a real woman,” Stepanova wrote on her Telegram channel.
The photograph shows that the Olympic champion is wearing bandages on her elbow, thigh and lower leg.
The Russian Summer Cross-Country Skiing Championship will end on September 18.
