Russian swimmers won seven medals on the third day of competition at the BRICS Games.
In the 4x100m medley relay, Alexey Tkachev, Georgy Glazunov, Andrey Volkov and Roman Akimov won gold. They showed a result of 3 minutes and 43.16 seconds.
Tkachev also became the best in the 200m backstroke (2:00.49), Akimov won silver in the 50m freestyle (23.59).
Among the women, Evgeniya Chikunova won gold in the 200m breaststroke (2:22.56). Daria Klepikova came to the finish line first in the 100m butterfly (58.82), Anastasia Markova finished second at this distance (59.81).
In addition, Klepikova, Markova, Chikunova as well as Vlada Eggi became the best in the 4x50m freestyle relay (1:44.98).
The BRICS Games competitions take place from October 18 to 21. Around 450 athletes from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa are participating.
