This is the first license of the Olympic Games 2024 for Ukraine in this discipline among women
Sofia Lyskun won the first for Ukraine license OI-2024 on women’s diving. It happened on 2024 World Aquatics Championshipswhich takes place in Qatar.
Two Ukrainians – Lyskun and Karina Glyzhina. The more experienced Sofia managed to take 14th place – and this was enough to receive an Olympic license. 14-year-old Glyzhina showed 28th result.
At the same time, Lyskun made it to the semifinals of the competition and on Monday, February 5, will compete to reach the finals.
In total, Ukraine has already obtained 65 licenses for the Olympics in Paris. Three of them were diving, and Lyskun’s success allowed our country to receive the first Olympic pass for women in this sport.
Let us remind you that earlier at the 2024 World Championships in the capital of Qatar, Doha, the Ukrainian artistic swimming team won silver medals.
