Olympic ice dancing champion Tatiana Navka congratulated her former partner Roman Kostomarov on his birthday.
Kostomarov turned 47 on February 8. The athlete suffered multiple amputations after being hospitalized in January last year.
— My dear Roma, partner, winner, champion, man of unyielding will and character, happy birthday!
You did it. You have practically been born again, you have resisted the blow of fate and you are still moving forward with boldness, determination and firmness towards your goals! You have won the most important struggle of your life and have become a new example of strength of spirit, will and desire to live.
Be happy, healthy, energetic, strong physically and spiritually. Take care of your family and loved ones. Set goals, achieve them, make your dreams come true and make your wishes come true!
My friendly shoulder is always there and I am definitely waiting for you on the ice,” Navka wrote on the Telegram channel.
Kostomarov, together with Navka, won gold at the 2006 Olympics in Turin, also became world champion twice and won the European Championships three times.
