Lunin: Iceland is a more difficult team than Bosnia and Herzegovina

Today the blue-yellows will play the decisive match for qualifying for Euro 2024

Goalkeeper Ukrainian national team and Real Madrid Andrey Lunin shared his expectations from the final playoff qualifying match for Euro 2024 against the team Iceland. According to the goalkeeper, a difficult game awaits the blue-yellows.

“The training before the match went well, we tried out the pitch. The field is average, but it is always like that for such a time. The mood in the team is fighting, it cannot be otherwise. There is one decisive game left, we need to prepare well and give everything on the football field.

Iceland is a more difficult team than Bosnia and Herzegovina. A more organized team, stronger, and, it seems to me, with more experience. The game will 100% be much harder and more demanding. We were working towards this and if we want to get to the Euro, we need to beat any opponent.

The situation in Ukraine affects every day. You just go to training, and you have this information in the news. We will do everything to make the country and people happy. This is very important,” said Lunin.

Ukraine’s nominally “home” match with Iceland will take place in Wroclaw, Poland, on March 26. The meeting starts at 21:45 Kyiv time. The match will be judged by a French team of referees led by Clement Turpin. The winner of the confrontation will advance to the 2024 European Championship, where they will play in Quartet E with Belgium, Slovakia and Romania.

Euro 2024 will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024. The matches of the European Championship will be held in arenas in Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
