The Italian does not exclude continued cooperation in the future
Italian specialist Francesco Baranca confirmed that he is leaving his post Head of the UAF Ethics and Fair Play Committee.
Let us remind you that it was previously reported that Baranka’s employment contract is ending and the UAF does not plan to renew the agreement with the specialist. At the same time, it is not excluded that the Italian will occupy a different position in the UAF.
Francesco himself, answering a question about the termination of cooperation with the governing football body of Ukraine, said:
“Yes, the information is true. They haven’t given me any specific reason, but I certainly accept their decision. It’s completely normal that they want change. I don’t know who will take my post.”
“The possibility is still open that we will come to some agreement and continue to cooperate as an external party within the framework of monitoring.”
“It’s been a long period here for me and we’ve had great results against match-fixing. I will always have Ukraine in my heart, and I will always be available in case the UAF needs my help,” concluded Baranka.
Francesco Baranca took over as head of the Ethics and Fair Play Committee in December 2016. The Italian was actively involved in investigating matches in Ukrainian football with a fixed result.
At the beginning of the year, the UAF underwent significant changes. The head of the Association was the legendary football player and coach Andrey Shevchenko, and the famous Ukrainian referee Ekaterina Monzul replaced Baranka’s compatriot Luciano Luci as head of the referee committee of the Ukrainian Football Association.
