The Ukrainian’s next opponent is Elise Mertens
The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina successfully started the tournament WTA 500 in American Charleston.
In the second round match, Svitolina defeated Australian representative Daria Saville. The fight lasted almost an hour and a half.
In the first set, Elina gave her opponent two games on her serve, but in response she made four breaks – 6:2. In the second game, the Ukrainian was also stronger – 6:4.
In the 1/8 finals, Svitolina, the 7th seed, will play 11th seed Elise Mertens of Belgium. Today the third round match will be held by Angelina Kalinina, who will meet with Daria Kasatkina.
Let us remind you that Dayana Yastremskaya and Lesya Tsurenko were unable to overcome the second round of the tournament in Charleston.
