Stevenson: I’m a bigger big shot than Lomachenko

Shakur gets into a dispute with a fan

WBC Lightweight Champion Shakur Stevenson (22-0, 10 KO) considers himself a more titled and experienced boxer than the current Ukrainian IBF and IBO lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KO).

On the social network X, one user expressed his opinion about both boxers, stating that Lomachenko will fight the WBA belt holder. Gervonta “Tank” Davis (29-0, 27 KOs)as he “enters the boxing hall of fame and this will lead him to a fight with Davis.”

“I’m a bigger shot than Loma. Go and check the numbers,” Shakur responded immediately.

Earlier, promoter Bob Arum said that representatives of Lomachenko and Gervonta Davis have been negotiating for several weeks about a face-to-face confrontation between the two champions. According to preliminary information, the Lomachenko-Davis fight could take place in November 2024.

On May 12, Lomachenko defeated Australian George Kambosos by technical knockout in his last fight. The Ukrainian won the vacant IBF lightweight belt, which was previously vacated by his previous opponent Devin Haney. Vasily also took the IBO belt, which was held by Kambosos.

Stevenson defeated Artem Arutyunyan in the main event of the boxing evening in New Jersey. The fight lasted all 12 rounds, and Shakur eventually won by decision. The WBC has already sanctioned Shakur’s fight with William Zepeda.
